Sketches
My dad was a talented sketch artist and cartoonist.
I learned a few things from him when I was young and only picked up the pencils again a few years after he passed away. Here are some initial efforts. I hope to build on these and improve over time as a nod to him.

This was a quick sketch that I completed in about an hour. I copied elements from an online image and modified it with a few details of my own. (April 2020)

How it all began
As mentioned above, I began my artistic journey later in life, enrolling in a drawing class at a local art institute. These initial images soon followed. I enjoyed it, but eventually moved on to doing more photography. Painting followed shortly thereafter, and that's where my primary focus remains. But I'll always have these images as a reminder of where it all started. For that reason, and because they were done as a tribute to my dad, they mean a lot to me.
